Buying a home is the biggest financial decision of most people's lives. Everyone checks price, location, and builder reputation. Almost nobody checks Vastu — and then they wonder why problems start after moving in. Here are 7 critical Vastu checks before you finalise your new home.

1. Check the Main Entry Direction

The entry direction of your home is the most important Vastu factor. Use the 32-entry system. North 1, 2, and 3 entries are excellent — money, opportunities, and growth. East entries bring good social growth and happiness. North East brings spiritual clarity and is very auspicious. South 1 gives fame and recognition — good for public figures. South 2, 3, and 4 should be avoided — they bring conflicts, legal issues, and government problems. South West entries are the worst — instability, accidents, and losses.

2. Is the North East Corner Open?

The NE corner should be the most open, light, and clean corner of the home. Any construction, toilet, kitchen, or clutter in NE is a major defect. A cut or missing NE corner on the plot is equally damaging and very difficult to correct.

3. Where Is the Kitchen?

Ideal kitchen: South East (Fire zone). Acceptable: South, South South East. Problematic: North East which is the worst, North, and South West. Check this before buying as it is very expensive to move a kitchen after construction.

4. Master Bedroom Location

The master bedroom should be in South West — this gives stability, authority, and relationship strength to the head of household. Avoid master bedroom in North East which causes health issues, or South East which causes conflicts and disturbed sleep.

5. Is the Plot Regular in Shape?

Square or rectangular plots are ideal. L-shaped, T-shaped, or triangular plots create zone imbalances that are very difficult to remediate. Check if any corner is missing from the plot.

6. What Are the Surroundings?

A temple directly opposite the main door creates strong energy conflict. A T-junction or road hitting the front wall creates sha energy — negative energy arrows hitting your home. Taller construction to the North or East blocks morning sunlight and money and growth energy.

7. Underground Water Tank Location

Underground water tanks should be in North or North East. An underground tank in South West or South is very problematic for family stability and finances.
