Labour Problems in Factories: How Vastu Zones Control Worker Loyalty

Labour stability is one of the most expensive operational challenges for Indian factory owners. Training new workers is costly. Strikes are disruptive. Chronic absenteeism kills production schedules. Most factory managers assume these are purely HR and compensation problems. In Vastu, specific zone imbalances in the factory are consistently linked to worker instability.
The zones that most directly control the quality of the employer-employee relationship in a factory are: SW (stability and relationships), NW (support and loyalty), and the zone of the main gate entry.
THE SW ZONE: WORKER STABILITY AND SKILL
The South West zone governs relationships and skills — including the relationship between management and workers. When the SW zone of a factory is imbalanced, workers feel no emotional connection to the workplace and leave without hesitation. A balanced SW zone creates a workforce that feels invested, respected, and stable.
THE NW ZONE: SUPPORT AND BANKING
The NW zone controls support — including the support that workers provide to the production process. An imbalanced NW zone means workers withdraw their support incrementally — through absenteeism, reduced effort, and ultimately resignation or strike action. The most common NW problem in factories is a toilet or heavy waste-related activity (garbage compactors, waste bins) placed in this direction.
THE ENTRY DIRECTION
The direction of the main factory gate directly influences the type of workforce the factory attracts. East entries attract socially connected, externally motivated workers. SW entries attract stable, skilled, long-term workers. WNW entries can attract workers who withdraw into depression or conflict.
REAL CASE STUDY — Ludhiana Factory, 2024
A knitwear factory in Ludhiana experienced three labour strikes in 18 months. The audit found: SW zone had the main garbage collection area. NW zone had a large water tank above the toilet block. Entry was from the WNW direction. Remedies: Garbage area relocated to SSW. Water tank adjusted. Main entry access route shifted to approach from the North direction. No strikes in the following 12 months.
PRACTICAL REMEDIES ✅
✅ Place a brass Nandi in the SW zone of the factory — anchors stability and worker loyalty. ✅ Clear the NW zone of garbage, waste bins, and dustbins — relocate to SSW. ✅ Ensure the main factory entry faces East or North wherever possible. ✅ The canteen should be in the SSE or West zone — both support nourishment and worker satisfaction. ✅ Avoid placing the time office or HR office in the WNW zone — this creates emotional withdrawal. ✅ Paste white tape on the SW zone skirting to activate Earth element stability for relationships.
