Diwali has passed. The diyas are cold. The decorations are coming down. The sweets are finished. And in many homes, the positive energy that was so beautifully activated during the 5-day festival season begins to gradually fade over the following weeks. This does not have to happen. A proper post-Diwali Vastu reset keeps the energy activated and working for your entire year ahead.
Within 3 Days After Diwali
Remove all old, wilted flowers from all zones and replace with fresh ones. Clean up all diya ash and residue from floors and surfaces. The ash itself is auspicious but should be disposed of respectfully - not left to accumulate as dirt. Keep the Lakshmi idol in its activated position in NE - do not move it back to a cupboard or storage area.
The Most Important Post-Diwali Actions
Keep the North East zone clean and keep a fresh diya lit there every evening. This maintains the divine energy activated during Lakshmi Puja. The South West zone should be kept heavy and stable - do not rearrange or shift furniture there for at least 3 months after Diwali. The South East zone should be kept free of water elements.
What to Avoid in the Month After Diwali
Do not start major renovations or break walls for at least 3 weeks after Diwali. Do not bring in large quantities of grey, black, or heavy dark objects during this period. Keep all zones clean - do not allow the post-festival cleanup to create new clutter as old decorations are removed and stored.
