Vastu for Home Renovation: What to Change and What Never to Touch

Home renovation is an opportunity to correct Vastu defects and dramatically improve the energy of your living space. But it is also a time when serious new Vastu mistakes can be inadvertently created. Many people renovate their homes and then find that life problems either continue or actually get worse. Understanding what to change and what to leave untouched is essential for a Vastu-aligned renovation.
Changes That Almost Always Improve Vastu
Opening up the North East corner: If NE has been used for storage or has become cluttered during previous occupation, clearing and opening it during renovation creates an immediate energy improvement. Relocating the kitchen from a wrong zone: If the kitchen is in NE or North, and renovation allows for relocation, moving it to SE is the single most impactful Vastu improvement. Improving North zone openness: Adding a window or glass panel to the North wall, or reducing heavy shelving there, dramatically improves financial energy.
Changes That Require Careful Consideration
Moving walls in the Brahmasthan area: Any wall movement in or near the geometric centre of the home should be done with great caution and Vastu consultation. Removing walls in the South West: SW stability is critical - do not open up or reduce the South West of your home. This weakens the relationship and stability anchor.
What Never to Change
The entry direction: Once a home is built, the main entry direction is fixed. Do not add a new main door in a problematic direction thinking it will help. The overall plot shape: Work within what you have. Attempting to change the fundamental orientation of rooms in a way that conflicts with the plot's natural energy flow rarely works well.
